After a formal education at Washington University, Corrubia entered the Massachusetts Institute of Technology at Boston,' and continued architectural study for two years at the University of Illinois.
Beginning practice for himself in St. Louis, in 1915 he joined Frank M. Cann in partnership and maintained that association for the next ten years. The firm of Cann & Corrubia designed several buildings of note in the city including the Charles Duncker, Jr. Memorial Hall at Washington University. In later years he carried on work under the name of Corrubia & Henderson, and in that phase of his career designed the Catholic Church of St. Ambrose, 1925, and Coravelli’s Restaurant in St. Louis, 1926.
