BRENKO, Anna was born in 1848.
Graduate higher pedag courses. Drama training in St. Petersburg under Boborykin, Tarnovskiy, and Vasil’yeva. Also studied abroad.
1878-1882 actress at Malyy Theater. 1879 organized Moscow troupe called "Free Players”. This theater soon ran into financial difficulties, leading to its closure in 1882.
Subsequently taught in Kiev and St. Petersburg. 1885-1887 acted at Aleksandrinskiy Theater, St. Petersburg. 1900 organized workers’ amateur theater in Moscow.
1914 from pupils at Prechistenskiy courses in Moscow formed the Workers' Theater which entertained Red Army units during the Civil War. In 1920's ran studio at Mocow Department of Education.
