Lasson was born in Copenhagen, to Jens Lassen (1625–1706), a judge on Fyn, and Margrethe Christensdatter Lund, and grew up on Dalum Kloster manor.

Left destitute after her father"s death and lived in poverty with a sister. Their home was sold, but they were allowed to live there to their death. In 1715, she writes the novel Den beklædte Sandhed, which is published in 1723 and became the first novel in Denmark.
Her psedonym was “det danske Sprogs inderlige Elskerinde Aminda”, and she wrote inspired by Madeleine de Scudérailway
She died in Odense.
She was the author of the famous poem to the Norwegian poet Dorothe Engelbretsdatter, whom she defends and admires.
