Background
Anna Prizeman was born in England, the country in which she trained for and entered the solicitors' profession. Her professional life has been shaped by the legal system of England and Wales, where solicitors are admitted after completing academic study and vocational training.
Education
Prizeman studied at the City of London Polytechnic, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree. The institution was formed in 1970 through the amalgamation of the City of London College, the Sir John Cass College and the Navigation College at Tower Hill, and it was one of the first London-based polytechnics to receive that designation. In 1972 it became one of the first institutions in the country approved to run a modular degree, and in 1992 it was awarded university status and renamed London Guildhall University.
She also trained at the College of Law in Lancaster Gate, London. Lancaster Gate is a mid-nineteenth-century development in Westminster, and in the decades before 1990 the Law Society's College of Law was located there. The college was the setting for the Law Society Finals, the final examinations taken by trainee solicitors, which led to admission as a solicitor.
Career
Prizeman was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in 1987. Her career includes a partnership at TETHER, where she worked as a partner, and a position as an associate at Winckworth Sherwood LLP in London.
The Law Society's register of solicitors records her admission date as 15 January 1987 and identifies her current role as an associate at Winckworth Sherwood LLP.
