Founded the Preeclampsia Foundation (www.preeclampsia.org) with Anil Singh-Molares, Joan Lambert, and Dr. Thomas R. Easterling. Recruited high-level medical board, established working relationships with the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the International Society for the Study of Hypertension in Pregnancy (ISSHP), the Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine (SMFM), the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the March of Dimes, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the World Health Organization (WHO), the American Heart Association (AHA), as well as doctors, survivors and patient advocates throughout the world.
Recruited to launch the first nonprofit associated with Microsoft - the Microsoft Alumni Foundation. Guided C+ level executive board and highly skilled professionals/alumni volunteers through a thorough and transparent process of defining mission, vision, values, unique value proposition, and programs. Developed branding, core programming (Integral Fellows Awards program), and signature annual event celebrating alumni and their philanthropic achievements globally.
In 2011, in response to a report from Amnesty International, founded the Unexpected Project with Jennifer Binkley Carney. The Unexpected Project works to provide support, information, and advocacy for survivors of maternal death and near-death in the U.S.A. Huffington Post columnist under pen name Anne Addison.
