Annesley Dias had his primary education at Saint Francis College, Dalugama, and his secondary education at Saint Joseph"s College Colombo 10. He started his career as an English teacher, and later joined the Official Language Department as a language translator. He started his comedian career through radio shows and became popular along with his fellow actors Berty Gunathilake and Samuel Rodrigo, through the radio comedy show "Vinoda Samaya" (විනෝද සමය) meaning fun time.
This radio show was later telecasted as a television show as well.He was one of the most respected comedians and earned a lot of espect from leading politicians and leading Planters like Dinal Hilary Samerenayeka as well.
