Career
Bersagel also earned a Fulbright Scholarship. After graduating with honors as an economics and politics double major in December 2005, she continued to train for with Team United States of America Minnesota based in Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Minnesota. She joined Team United States of America immediately after graduating.
She also placed 10th in the 2006 United States of America Cross Country Championships 8 km.
However, in May 2007 she left the training group to complete her master"s degree in peace and conflict instead of returning to the University of Minnesota to complete her degree. Bersagel earned a Fulbright Scholarship to pursue a graduate degree in peace and conflict studies at the University of Oslo.
Bersagel has interned at the United States. Embassy in Oslo, Norway. She has also been awarded a National Collegiate Athletic Association postgraduate scholarship.
She graduated from Stanford Law School in June 2012.
Although she had hoped to appear in the Olympic Track & Field Trials that were held June 27–July 6, 2008 in Eugene, Oregon, she did not. She also did not enter the Women"s Marathon Olympic Trials on April 20, 2008 in Boston, Massachusetts. She represented the United States during the 2011 Pan American Games for the 10,000m in Guadalajara, Mexico, with a 4th-place finish as the top American in 35:23.31.
Bersagel ran a 2014 United States #2 Half Marathon at IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in 70:10 (One hour ten minutes ten seconds) which also ranks #54 in the world as of 23 June 2014.
