Career
From 1894 opera choirmaster and symphonic conductor, artistic director of opera theaters and impressario. 1927-1928, as opera conductor, loured France. Collected musical folklore.
Recorded some 4,000 Bashkir, Tat, Uzbek and Turkm folk songs.
