Career
As a youth player Volkov played for FK Khimki, and in 2008 he was taken to its reserve team Playing there for a year, in 2009 he moved to the Football Club Saturn Moscow Oblast reserves, scoring his first goal and playing 26 matches. He spent the 2010-2011 season with Football Club Volga Tver, before moving to Latvia in 2011.
In early April he was signed by John F Kennedy Olimps/RFS. Proving his abilities there and scoring 3 goals in 15 matches, he soon left the team and signed a contract with another Latvian club - Skonto Riga in July 2011 before the start of the 2011-2012 Union of European Football Associations Champions League qualification.
He was given the northern 24 shirt then He played 6 league matches later that season and also scored once.
