He was the maternal grandson of Gonzalo Carabajal, alcalde in Buenos Aires. Cabral dedicated himself to livestock, had his ranch in the center of province of Buenos Aires. Had participated in military expeditions against the Indians, he held the position of Maestre de Campo.
Almost all their missions were dedicated to protect livestock and ranchers in the area continuously attacked by wild Indians.
Antonio was the son of Cristóbal Cabral de Melo, (regidor and Captain) and María de Carvajal y Salas.
