Career
She was elected to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India from the constituency of Mirzapur in the 2014 Indian general election. She was educated at Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Amity University and Kanpur University. She has a Master"s degrees in Psychology and also Masters in Business Administration (Master of Business Administration), and has taught at Amity.
Her mother, Krishna Patel, is president of the party.
In the 2014 general election, the party campaigned in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party, led by Narendra Modi, but Patel rejected overtures intended to result in a merger of the two bodies. In May 2015, Anupriya and six others were expelled by her mother, Krishna, for alleged anti-party activities.
