Araga Jnanendra is a politician and chairman of Mysore Paper Mills. He received his primary education in Araga before continuing his education at a high school in Rashtriya Shikshana Samsthe, Konandur. While at university he was selected as the leader of Students Group and selected as President of ABVP for Shimoga District.
During the 1975 Emergency he took the leadership of the Janata Party Movement.
He was imprisoned for his actions.1983, 1985, 1989 continuously three times lost Modern Language Association elections.
