Officiating Principal Benares College. Professor of Philosophy,Presidency College, Calcutta, 1877. At the same time also Principal of the Calcutta Madrasa, and Member of Board of Examiners and Hindi Examiner, Fort "William.
Principal and Professor of Philosophy, Muir Central College, Allahabad, 1886. Registrar of the University of Allahabad, 1887-1894. In charge of the duties of Director of Public Instruction, North-Western Provinces and Oudh, 1894.
Invalided on furlough, 1894. Pensioned, 1895; Public Examiner Honour School of Oriental Studies, Oxford, 1900-1902. Retired First Grade Officer of the Indian Educational Service.
