Taneja played a cameo in the series Bade Acche Lagte Hain on Sony Entertainment Television India in September 2013.
He also participated in the reality show Music Television Splitsvilla, in Season 6. Since April 2014, Taneja is playing the role of Purab Khanna, parallel lead and one of the protagonists in the television show Kumkum Bhagya on Zee television Purab Khanna’s love interest in the serial is Bulbul(Mrunal Thakur).
