Specialist in modern and current hist, of West European countries, especially Germany. Since 1956 Head, Group for the Study of German History, Institute of History, USSR Academy of Science. Since 1957 Chairman, Soviet Section, Commission of USSR and German Democratic Republic Historians.

Со-Editor, 7th volume of “Vsemirnaya istoriya” (A Universal History).
