Career
He is a former mayor of Addis Ababa (2003–2005), as well as a former State Minister of Works and Urban Development. He is currently a Minister and Special Advisor to the Prime Minister, the board chair to the Ethiopian Railway Corporation and the deputy chairman of the board of directors of Ethiopian Airlines.
