Studied at Nottingham High School, under Doctor Dixon. Commenced Art Study with the late Andrew M‘Callum.
Later went to the Herkomer School, Bushey. First exhibited at R.A. 1890. Work almost entirely done in East Anglia, and Cornwall.
Pictures in the following public galleries: Tate Gallery, (Chantrey collection), The Guildhall permanent collection, Manchester, Auckland (N. Zealand), Cape Town, Durban, Nottingham, Preston, and Worcester.

Spouse 1896, Mia, daughter of Rev. Charles Smallwood Edwards, formerly vicar of Llanddewi Ivhyderch, Abergavenny.
