Arnesby Brown

Background

Brown, Arnesby was born in 1866 in Nottingham. Son of J. H. Brown, Iiuddington, North ottinghamshire.

Education

Studied at Nottingham High School, under Doctor Dixon. Commenced Art Study with the late Andrew M‘Callum.

Career

Later went to the Herkomer School, Bushey. First exhibited at Resident Advisor 1890. Work almost entirely done in East Anglia, and Cornwall.

Pictures in the following public galleries: Tate Gallery, (Chantrey collection), The Guildhall permanent collection, Manchester, Auckland (North. Zealand), Cape Town, Durban, Nottingham, Preston, and Worcester.
