Education

Private school and gymnasium, Amsterdam. Studied music under Joseph Coenen and others. Came to America, 1876.

Career

Teacher and manager College of Music, Cincinnati, until 1921. Lecturer on music University of California at Los Angeles, 1924-1932. Dean Zoellner Conservatory, Los Los Angeles United States delegate International Museum Congress, Rome, Italy, 1911.

Chairman National Education Association committee for revision of nat. songs. Member Congressional Committee for revision of “Star Spangled Banner.”.
