1897 graduate Glukhov Teachers’ Training Institute.
Career
From 1901 worked as teacher in Khabarovsk. 1903 took up horticulture as hobby. Bred five strains of pear (Tyoma, Polya, Olya, Lida and Vnuchka) which have become standard in Khabarovsk Kray, Maritime Kray, Siberia and the Urals.
Also bred several semi-wild strains of apple (Shkrab, Ded, etc). From 1934 director of a fruit and berry nursery in Khabarovsk which now bears his name. Contributed to the journals “Ussuriyskoye sadovodstvo i ogorodnichestvo” and “Plodoovoshchnoye khozyaystvo”.
