Background

Binney, Arthur was born on December 2, 1865 in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. Son of Henry P. and Josephine (Hayward) Binney.

Education

Educational public schools, Boston, and course in Massachusetts Institute Technology.

Career

Began as apprentice with Whittier Machine Company, Boston, later employed by Hook & Hastings Organ Company. Associated, 1888, with Edward Burgess, naval architect, who designed yachts Puritan, Mayflower and Volunteer, defenders of the international prize trophy. Succeeded to business, upon death of partner, 1891.

Director Rockport Granite Company.
