He was educated in the Boston's public schools, Mr. Everett studied architecture under Professor Ware at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
He worked in Boston firm of Bradlee, Winslow & Wetherell, joined McKim, Mead & White’s office in New York. There he assisted in preparing plans for the Boston Public Library, and remained with the firm for a number of years acquiring valuable experience. Following his return to Boston in 1885 Mr. Everett entered into partnership with the late Edward C. Cabot and Samuel Mead, and until his retirement shortly before the turn of the century planned a number of structures in his native city, including the "Journal” Building and the Washington Street Grammar School, He also designed several dormitories at Harvard College.
Elected to the American Institute of Architects early in his career and advanced to Fellowship in 1891, Mr. Everett was an active member of the Boston Society of Architects and continued that affiliation until the time of his decease.
