Career
Arthur Reeve"s name first appears in the Troop records for Street Matthew"s Scout Group in Christchurch, New Zealand in 1926. He started as a Scout and moved on to take over the Troop as a much respected Scoutmaster. From there he was promoted to District Scoutmaster and formally resigned from Saint Matthew"s Scout Group with a letter left in the Troop Log Book dated 11 December 1936, although he kept in contact throughout the years and often visited the Group when he could.
His roles in New Zealand included Commissioner for Pacific Island and International Commissioner. recipient In 1979, Arthur Reeve gained the distinction of becoming one of just over 300 people (to date) in worldwide to be presented with the, awarded in recognition of "outstanding service by an individual to the World Scout Movement".
This award is rarely handed out, as approximately 1 in every 2,000,000 scouts are given this distinction every year. He donated a cup - The Arthur Reeve Cup - which is played for in the Wellington Secondary Schools rugby competition in the Under 80 kg grade.
Reeve also a published author, wrote Cradle of published in 1992, shortly before his death.
