Reynolds, Arthur was born on March 10, 1868 in Panora, Iowa, United States. Son of Elijah Jackson and Mary (Anderson) Reynolds.

Became president Continental & Commercial Trust & Savings Bank, 1918. President Continental & Commercial Securities Company, 1919, Continental & Commercial’ National Bank, 1921, and upon merger of the two last named in 1927 under title of Continental National Bank & Trust Company, was made president. Chairman of the Board Continental Illinois Bank & Trust Company (consolidation of Illinois Merchants Trust Company and Continental National Bank and Trust Company) 1929-1932, resigned.

President Continental Illinois Company and Continental Chicago Corporation to 1932. Vice Chairman of the Board Bank of America National Trust & Savings Association of San Francisco since February 15, 1933. Director American Alliance Insurance Company, Great American Indemnity Company, Great American Insurance Company, Rochester American Insurance Company, Associated Reinsurance Company.
