Began life in the Inland Revenue, London, and while a clerk there kepi his terms at Oxford. Bachelor of Arts 1876. Master of Arts 1877; was curate of Chester-le-Street, 1876-1880, involving much walking exercise.

Buda Pesth, 1890; Venice, 1900. Monte Carlo, 1903; Barcelona, 1904.
Copenhagen, 1906. Stockholm, ’1906. Pompeii, 1907.
Crossed the Carpathians, 1909. Pilgrimage to Lourdes, 1910. Vicar of Filey.
