KIMBALL, Arthur Reed was born on February 1, 1855 in New York, United States. Son of J. Merrill and Elizabeth (Chapin) Kimball.

Education

Bachelor of Arts, Yale, 1877. Studied law at Yale, and at Chicago. Admitted to Illinois bar, 1879.

Career

City editor Iowa State Register, Des Moines, 9 months, 1880. Associate editor (and later business manager) Waterbury American, 1881-1922, sold interest and retired, 1922. Officer and director in a number of brass corporations and 3 banks.

Has lectured on journalism, at Yale. Active in work of stamping out tuberculosis. Member Connecticut Tuberculosis Commission, and chairman of the executive committee Gaylord Farm Sanatorium.
