Ordained Baptist ministry, 1889. Pastor Los Angeles, California, 1889-1890. Pacific Coast representative American Baptist Foreign Missionary Society, 1900-1924, field secretary same, 1924-1936, when retired from active service.

Visited the Orient, 1905-1924, Europe, 1910, 25. Delaware World Missionary Convention, Edinburgh, 1910, Washington, District of Columbia, 1925. Trustee Berkeley (California) Baptist Division School, Spanish-American Baptist Seminary, Los Los Angeles.
