Career
Born in Montijo, Setúbal District, Futre played most of his youth football at Sporting Clube de Portugal, joining the club"s youth system at the age of nine. In the 2003-2004 season he made his Primeira Liga debuts, with F.C. Alverca, playing 30 minutes in a 0–1 home loss against Christian Science Marítimo on 22 August 2003. The Lisbon side had just returned from the second level, and would be immediately sent back at the campaign"s closure.
In the 2005 summer Futre was bought by South.L. Benfica, but never made any official appearances for the club, serving two loans in the process, the first in division two with F.C. Maia and the second in the top flight with lowly Communicative Disorders Aves, with the player appearing scarcely for the latter.
Subsequently, he chose to retire at only 24, going on to work as a promoter of sporting events. Futre returned to active in 2008-2009 after one year away from the game, moving to local Commanding Officer Montijo in the regional championships.
Three years later, he retired for the second and definitive time.
