Welsh, Ashton Leroy was born on July 27, 1906 in N. Bend, Ohio, United States. Son of Carl and Belle (Zapf) Welsh.


Bachelor of Science, University Cincinnati, 1928, Doctor of Medicine 1930. Master of Science, University of Minnesota, 1946.


Fellow section dermatology and syphilology Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, 1931-1934, 1st assistant department, 1934-1936. Private practice specializing in dermatology, Cincinnati, since 1936. Senior staff department dermatology Christ Hospital, since 1940.

Co-director Bethesda Hospital, since 1942. Consultant dermatologist Children’s Hospital. Attending dermatologist, clinician department dermatology out-patient dispensary, also attending dermatologist dermatological service and clinician, Cincinnati General Hospital.
