Background

GADAGATL, Asker was born in 1922 in village Khatukay, Adyge Autonomous Oblast.

Education

Studied at Adyge Pedagogical School, Krasnodar, at Adyge Teachers’ Institute, Krasnodar, and at Adyge Pedagogical Institute, Maykop. Completed postgrad, course at Institute of Literature, Georgia Academy of Sciences, Tbilisi.

Career

Collected and arranged Adyge folklore. 1942-1946 in Red Army. 1960 member, Editorial Board, “Russko-adygeysky slovar” (Russian-Adyge Dictionary).
