Athanasios Plevris

He was elected into office in the 2007 parliamentary election with the Popular Orthodox Rally party. Plevris practices law in Athens, having completed post-graduate study in Heidelberg University, and earned a doctorate from the University of Athens. He completed his military service as a sergeant in the 32nd Marines Brigade.
In June 2009 Plevris was elected as Member of the European Parliament and was replaced in the Greek parliament by Georgios Georgiou but returned to the Greek parliament again after the Greek legislative election, 2009.
Politics
He became a member of New Democracy in May 2012.
