Athelstan Beckwith

Education

He earned a Bachelor of Science, from the University of Western Australia in 1952, and Doctor of Philosophy, from the University of Oxford in 1956.

Career

He was a fellow of the Australian Academy of Science. He taught at the University of Adelaide. He was Professor of Organic Chemistry at the Australian National University, from 1981 to 1995.

Achievements

• In 1960, he won the Rennie Memorial Meda In 1961, he won a Nuffield Scholarship to study with Sir Derek Barton.
