Served as electrical engineer of Communications Ministry and then held various executive posts with Nihon Ita-Garasu (Sheet Glass) Company, Kyushu Soden (Power Transmission) Company, head office of Sumitomo Company and Kyushu Hydroelectric Power Company and thereafter became president of Sumitomo Chemical Industry Company and chairman of Sumitomo Aluminum Refining Company (1938).
Later served as director of head office of Sumitomo Company, adviser of Ammunitions Ministry, president of Teikoku Light Metals Control Company, president of Ohara Optical Glass Manufacturing Company. Assumed additional post of director of Nihon Carbide Manufacturing Company (1963).
Traveled several times to Europe and America (1911-1929); made tour of India, Thai and Malay.
Holds additional posts of adviser of Nissan (Japan Industrial) Company, Light Metals Association and Nikkeiren (Federation of Japan Employers' Associations) and trustee of Dai-Nippon Denkikai (Great Japan Electricity Association), Nihon Kogyo Kurabu (Japan Industry Club), Kobunshi-gakukai (High Polymer Science Society) and Kaisei Gakuen (Academy).
