With importing house of E. Nolting & Company, Hamburg, 3 years. Came to the United States, 1868, engaged in coal business until 1884. An organizer of Lehigh Zinc & Iron Company, 1881, later consolidated with others into the New Jersey Zinc Company, general manager until 1904, later director.
