Professor in Jay Narain’s College Benares, 1870. Returned to England, 1874. Principal Cathedral Mission College, Calcutta, 1877.
Joined Indian Educational Sendee, 1881.
Principal of the Calcutta Madrasah, 18S1. Retired 1899; specially interested in archaeology, epigraphy, palaeography, et cetera
