Career
Her family comes from the Turkish coasts of Black Sea and she grew up in Ruhr and currently lives in Cologne. Acevit studied social sciences and worked for Adolf-Grimme-Institut, Westdeutschen Rundfunk and Zweiten Deutschen Fernsehen. She co-published with Birand Bingül some histories of the life of Turkish immigrants in Germany in Was lebst Du? (2005) and in her second book Zu Hause in Almanya (2008).
