Graduate Jewish teachers’ training seminary in America.
In his youth worked in tailor’s shops. Until 1921 lived in Poland and Lithuania 1921 emigrated to America and worked in shirtwaist factories, then taught in schools for workers’ children.
Printed his work in newspaper “Morgen freiheit”, organ of Central Committee, United States Communist Party. Helped found and run lit organizations “Junion skwer” and “Proleten". 1932 went to Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics; work printed in Soviet Jewish journals and newspapers.
1949 arrested by State Security organs. 1956 rehabilitated.
Member, Belorussian Writers’ Union.
