Under the first stage-name, Ten-chuken Nyoungetsu, his recitation was put on Polydor records which opened the way for his public fame, making him hold one of the leading positions in this profession. His earnest recitation was warmly welcomed by his fans.

Baio Kasugai appointed a chairman of the Japan Naniwa-bushi Reciters Association in 1951.
