In 1978 Barbara became a part-owner and manager of Gallery 7 in Vancouver, British Columbia. She worked there for a year, becoming a part-owner and director of Clothworks, a textile design company.
Nowadays Barbara Lambert is a writer and contributor to periodicals. Her first book, The Allegra Series was published in 1999. A Message for Mr. Lazarus followed the next year. The Whirling Girl is Lambert's most recent book.
Barbara Lambert is a member of the Writers Union of Canada and British Columbia Federation of Writers.
Barbara Lambert married Douglas Lambert. They have three children - James, Shaena and John.
