Losh was born in eastern Cincinnati, Ohio, later moving to Hollywood, Florida at the age of nine.

Losh had initially competed for the 1984 Mission Florida competition, but was forced to withdraw from the competition due to a scheduling conflict with her cheerleading duties. Her husband John Rizzo died of a heart attack at the age of 46 in 2008. Many of her photographs still appear on products from socks to picture frames, from catalogues to beer posters.

As an adult Losh went into modeling and also performed as a Miami Dolphins cheerleader between 1982 and 1984 and was a member of the famous June Taylor Dancers.
