Currently, he lives in West Hills, California. Currently Rubinow is the Senior Vice President of DOC: The Documentary Channel, where he supervises all original production and post production. DOC is the first channel in the United States to show documentaries on a full-time basis.

The Documentary Channel was created in 1998 and is currently on the DISH Network, Channel 197.

Rubinow is also a television and documentary film editors In 1999, Rubinow produced and directed the 35mm feature film The Secretariat Effect.
