Basil von Burmann was born in 1891 in Warsaw (then in the Russian Empire, now in Poland), into a family of Baltic Germans, being of Orthodox religion.
Basil von Burmann was born in 1891 in Warsaw (then in the Russian Empire, now in Poland), into a family of Baltic Germans, being of Orthodox religion.
He participated in World War I and the Russian Civil War. Von Burmann received the rank of colonel in the Alexander Kolchak"s Army. After the war, he was held in a prisoner-of-war camp, but was able to escape and took refuge abroad.
In 1955 von Burmann was consecrated hierodeacon.
Deacon von Burmann died on 30 October 1959 in Saint Procopius Abbey in Illinois (United States of America).
