Batchimeg recorded several major upsets in the 2006 United States. Chess Championship held March 2–11 in San Diego, California, scoring 3½ out of 5 points against grandmasters in the first five rounds. The tournament bulletin after round five proclaimed her performance a "sensation". However, she lost her remaining four games, ultimately tying for 27th-30th place out of 32 in her tournament group.
Nevertheless, this was still enough to make a norm for the Woman Grandmaster title.
She competed in the FIDE Women"s Grand Prix 2013-2014. At the Sharjah event, her 6/11 result earned her a General Motors norm.
