Education
Entered priesthood in the Jifukuji Temple in Sagami. Studied and practiced Buddhism at the Saionji Tempie in Hitachi (Ibaraki Prefecture) and the Kenchoji Temple in Kamakura.
Career
Traveled through many provinces on lecture tours. In 1380, was invited to the Kogakuji Temple at Enzan in Kai (Yamanashi Prefecture) and was made first patriarch of the temple. Priests in residence there numbered one thousand.
