Education
D'Souza completed a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Master of Arts in English from Stella Maris College and Presidency College, University of Madras, Chennai (Tamil Nadu). She also holds a Ph.D in Australian Literature and pursued research at University of Western Australia, Perth and University of Monash, in Melbourne, Australia.
Career
Between 1991 and 1996, she held the following positions: Member, State Commission for Women, Tamil Nadu Chairperson, State Minorities Commission, Tamil Nadu That time she was serving as the Vice-President, Samata Party, Tamil Nadu.From 1998-99, she held various posts including: Member, Joint Committee on the Empowerment of Women and its Sub-Committee on and Health Programmes for Women Member, Committee on Science and Technology, Environment and Forests and its Sub-Committee on Food Technology Member, Consultative Committee, Ministry of Human Resource Development In 1999, she was nominated to the 13th Lok Sabha. From 1999-2004, she worked as Member, Committee on Science and Technology, Environment and Forests Member, Committee on External Affairs Member, Committee on the Empowerment of Women and Convenor of its Sub-Committee on Laws related to Women Member, Consultative Committee, Ministry of Human Resource Development Since the beginning of her career, D'Souza has been associated with All India Anglo-Indian Association.
Membership
She represents the Anglo-Indian community from Tamil Nadu as a member of the Samata Party. D'Souza was first nominated a member of Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly in 1991. In 1998, Beatrix was nominated as a member of the 12th Lok Sabha.
