Beatrix Bulstrode travelled to Mongolia twice in 1911 and again in 1913. She took her journeys, as well as her droll sense of humor, and created one of the most interesting and enjoyable travelogues about an unknown part of the world.

Beatrix Manico Gull was a lecturer before the Royal Asiatic Society in London. In November 1911, she arrived in China and was a nurse at the hospital in 1914-1915. Later she was Cables Secretary in War Office Emigration Agency Weihaiwei for nearly two years (1917-1918) and Secretary to the Labour Information Bureau.
What is more, Beatrix Gull was the author of "A tour in Mongolia" and other books and wrote under the name of Mrs. Beatrix Bulstrode.
