He made an initial appearance in the role of, the first husband of Major Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan on the television series M*A*South*H, appearing in the Season 5 finale episode titled "Margaret"s Marriage", but was unavailable for the character"s second appearance. Consequently, the role would then go to former Tarzan film star and former NFL football player Mike Henry.
