Bartók, Bela was born on March 25, 1881 in Nagyszentmiklós, Hungary.
Studied music with Laszlo Erkel, Pressburg, Hungary, 1893-1899. Graduate Royal Academy Music, Budapest, Hungary, 1903. Studied folk-music (which came to have a heavy influence on his work), 1905-1945, became expert in Hungarian, Rumanian, Turkish, Serbian, Bulgarian, Arabic folk-music, published many volumes on his researches.
Bela Bartók has been listed as a noteworthy pianist, composer by Marquis Who's Who.
