Cooper"s earliest credited screen appearance was as an eighteen-year-old in 1952–1953 on the Armstrong Circle Theatre, then on National Broadcasting Company, in the two episodes "The Commandant"s Clock" and "Changing Dream". Thereafter, he appeared in numerous films such as Thunderbirds, Johnny Guitar and The Rose Tattoo. Starting in 1959, Cooper began appearing on dozens of television westerns, starting with National Broadcasting Company"s Tales of Wells Fargo.
Other series include Wagon Train, Bonanza and Rawhide.
