Career
He was succeeded by Thomas R. Hudd. Born in Penobscot, Maine, Ferguson moved to Fox Lake, Wisconsin Territory in 1844 and was a farmer. In 1852, Ferguson was elected sheriff of Dodge County, Wisconsin and also served on the Dodge County Board of Supervisors.
