(Ben Fisher's impact on Christian higher education in his ...)
Ben Fisher's impact on Christian higher education in his beloved North Carolina is beyond question; perhaps just as important in its way was his gift of humor. For Ben, in addition to his roles as minister, teacher, and administrator, was a dedicated collector of mountain stories and a skilled raconteur who was much in demand at any occasion which demanded the sunshine of a good funny story. These sparkling anecdotes of mountaineers and mules, hounds and hunters, preachers and sinners are presented as they were collected and transcribed by Ben himself; they are told with humour, tolerance, and perhaps most importantly with respect. With an introduction by his wife, Sally Fisher, and a memoir by his student and colleague, Roger Branch.
